The Bands of The Villages Ensemble Concert invites you to an evening of beautifully crafted, small-group performances showcasing the remarkable musicianship of our community. 

Each ensemble highlights the unique colors, textures, and personalities of its instrument family, creating a diverse and engaging musical journey. 

SYMPHONIC WINDS

Presented by The Villages Symphonic Winds - Lewis J Buckley, Director

Included in the program will be one of J. P. Sousa’s most famous marches, The Liberty Bell; the exciting Mambo! from West Side Story; Villanelle, a beautiful french horn solo performed by Leslie Ann Van Syckle; Abracadabra, Frank Ticheli’s delightful musical depiction of a magic act; Ticheli’s gorgeous arrangement of the hymn Amazing Grace; and it will close with Lewis Buckley’s own transcription for band of the Finale from Antonin Dvorak’s famed New World Symphony.

The momentum keeps building with the nostalgic rock pulse of “Summer of ’69.” Then, we light up the night with dazzling selections from ABBA on Broadway. With the phenomenal Petrina joining us as guest vocalist, this is a musical experience you won’t soon forget.
