THE VILLAGES NEW HORIZONS BAND
was founded in November 2005 and offers its members a wide variety
of music to perform for all listeners to enjoy. All members are Village residents
and come from varied backgrounds with one commonality, instrumental music
making in their retirement years.
The Villages New Horizons Band continues to support the philosophy of the
international program of The New Horizons International Music Association
which encourages and supports senior citizens involvement in instrumental music programs. NHB membership includes the Association of Concert Bands and the
Bands Of The Villages. The NHB supports various area groups and organizations through their donations derived from proceeds from our concerts.

Patriotic Spectacular Concert
Sunday 3 July, 3pm or 7 pm
Savannah Center 1545 Buena Vista Blvd
Join the Bands of the Villages in their annual celebration of America!
Volunteer musicians from three of the Villages’ largest bands combine
their talents to perform a variety of patriotic music. The music is guaranteed
to reflect the heartbeat of our nation with selections from World War II,
Dixieland favorites, Sousa marches, and even a special presentation
of the Battle Hymn of the Republic.
And yes, of course, we’ll pay tribute to our Armed Forces. For those who
have served in the military, please feel welcome to wear Service caps.
What a great way to get ready to celebrate the fourth of July? Put on
your red, white, and blue; and come out for a “shot” of good old-fashioned
patriotism. Tickets are on sale at the Villages Box Offices for $15.00.
In addition to enjoying the Patriotic Spectacular music extravaganza,
it’s noteworthy that a large portion of the ticket sales will be donated to
the Ukraine relief efforts and to the Fisher House of Tampa.

Attendance Policy for playing a Concert
Attendances at
rehearsals are expectations for
a bandsman to play
in the concerts.
There could be cogent reasons that prohibit attendance at every rehearsal.
However, the band’s
policy to play in a concert include attendance of the
last four rehearsals
plus the dress
rehearsal.
If there are unusual
circumstances that
preclude meeting
the attendance requirements,
a member may
contact the Director
in an effort to obtain
an exemption.
Section leaders are
to be informed about
any granted
exemptions of
the policy.
